What to expect at Family Camp
Wake up to beautiful views of Newfound Lake and head to breakfast with your entire crew, whether that includes just your family or a group of families from your church or small group.
After fueling up for the day’s activities, join other Christian families for all-camp worship, where you will connect with God together as a family and as a body of believers. After worship, you will break out into age-specific groups to learn about God in relevant ways and make new friends.
After a simple and filling lunch, it’s a nonstop adventure with access to all camp activities, from swimming and canoeing to crafts and archery. Explore new things as a family or venture out on your own and try what interests you most; with staff always around, Camp Berea is a safe place to roam.
We all gather again for a delicious dinner in the dining hall and an evening activity that is anything but boring, from night swimming to crazy games and a closing banquet.
As your happy and tired campers return to your family cabin, fresh conversations will flow and new memories will be shared before it’s time to rest up to do it all again tomorrow! Get ready to build a new family tradition you will look forward to year after year.
What’s included:
- Cabin-style accommodations for five nights*
- All meals, from Sunday dinner through Friday breakfast
- Daily chapel sessions with worship and teaching from our featured speaker
- Access to all camp activities (canoeing, high ropes course, archery, riflery, etc.) + special activities and games for the whole family
*Off-site rates are available for those who do not want to stay at camp but would like to participate in meals and activities.
Rugged enough to feel like camp. Comfortable enough to feel like home.
Join us on the shores of beautiful Newfound Lake for pristine natural beauty and tons of waterfront adventures! Here you can experience the great outdoors in style, with cozy cabins, delicious food, and all the details taken care of for you.
Where you will stay:
Your family will stay together in your own cabin with an en suite bathroom and plenty of bunks for mom, dad, and the kids. Cabins can house up to 12 people, and your family will have the entire cabin to yourself.
If you don’t want to stay on-site, you can buy a camp-only ticket, where you arrange your own accommodation but have access to all sessions and activities.
What you will eat:
Get ready to be treated to delicious meals created by our in-house chefs and served in the communal dining hall. Each morning, you’ll enjoy a breakfast buffet with lots of cereal, fruit, and rotating treats like eggs, bacon, and French toast. Lunch consists of family favorites like hamburgers and hotdogs and a salad bar, and dinner features homemade, themed dishes like pizza night, taco night, and pasta night (don’t worry, we sneak some veggies in there too). Of course, it wouldn’t be camp without s’mores and sundaes, so be sure to leave room for dessert!
If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, there is a place to share this during the registration process, and we work very hard to accommodate these. Our chefs are all ServSafe certified.

When does Family Camp take place?
Family Camp takes place from Sunday afternoon through Friday morning in early August of each year. Our final camp session of the summer, it’s the perfect way to connect as a family before school starts back up.
What ages can attend Family Camp?
All ages are welcome at Family Camp! It’s normal to see everyone from infants to multi-generational families enjoying camp together.
What are the housing arrangements?
Families stay in cabins together, with one family per cabin. Cabins have bunk beds and an en suite bathroom for comfort and privacy.
What are the arrival and departure times for Family Camp?
Check-in is from 3:00-5:00pm Sunday, and check-out is at 10:00am Friday.
How will my family learn about the God of the Bible?
Each day at camp includes all-camp chapel times with worship and Bible teaching, as well as age-specific breakout sessions that cover topics relevant to each member of the family. We welcome and accept campers at every stage of their faith journey. Our camps are highly invitational, encouraging campers to think about God, life’s big questions, and what their next steps of faith might be in the safety of an authentic community.
Can I bring a group from my church?
We love church groups, and Family Camp is a great place for families from your church to deepen their relationships with each other. Because each family stays in their own cabin, the families from your church should register individually. If you know how many families are coming, please contact us before your arrival, and we will try to house your group in cabins near each other.
