Frequently Asked Questions

How long is CDP and how much does it cost?

We have two-week sessions of CDP. Session dates are: July 9-22 or July 23-August 5, 2023 and the price is: $1,450.

What service projects do CDPs perform while at Berea?

Service times are intended to give CDPs a “behind-the-scenes” look at camping ministry.

Therefore, CDPs will assist in areas that have a direct impact on the other campers, such as scooping ice cream in the snack shop, delivering camper mail, and prepping the dining hall for lunch. We may also help with camp-wide games in the evening.

Is CDP a “Staff in Training” program?

We intentionally structure The Camper Discipleship Program to be different from traditional SIT or CIT programs.

CDP is designed for more intentional discipleship with the intent of training student-leaders to be disciple makers in their church and community.

However, many former CDP’s have come back as summer staff and as short-term volunteers.

Are there scholarships available for CDP?

“Camperships” are available for campers in CDP.

You can contact the Camp Berea office either via email at [email protected] or call 603-744-6344.

Is the second year of CDP any different than the first year?

Yes, in some aspects. We try to provide returning CDPs extra opportunities to see more of the ministry, including shadowing other specialties (Summer Event Team, Rec. Dept., Kitchen, Waterfront, Facilities, Cabin Leading or Office.)

The CDP Mentors will discuss opportunities individually to personalize the experience for each returner.

What is the daily schedule?

CDP operates on a separate schedule from the rest of camp. The morning schedule will be very specific to CDP. We also eat our meals with the staff.

However, much of the afternoon and evening program will be in line with the rest of camp. It is designed to let CDPs experience all the fun of camp, and more. There is flexibility built into our schedule to provide a unique experience for each CDP session.
